133rd ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
NB: please see attached documents at bottom of page
2020 has been a year of disruptions and challenges for the entire community, and Canterbury Cricket Club hasn't been immune. In April the General Committee, in accordance with State Government advice took the decision to postpone our AGM until such a time that a greater percentage of our Members could attend a formal meeting in-person. All indications in recent weeks were that an August the 5th AGM in the Jean Green Room would be possible. However, developments last week have forced us to alter this plan, and for the first time Canterbury Cricket Club will hold our AGM online, via Zoom.
While it is a relief that we can hold this event, Zoom meetings are unfortunately limited to 100 attendees. As such, we request that those Members wishing to attend this year's AGM, indicate their interest by filling out the attached form - "133rd AGM Registration Form". Included in this form is a section for Members to raise questions prior to the meeting, to be directly addressed on the evening. While attending Members will have the opportunity to raise questions during the event, as you can imagine with potentially 100 attendees, pre registering your questions will make this process easier for those facilitating the meeting.
For those wishing to attend the AGM, please return your completed forms to the Secretary via email (email@example.com) by Friday the 7th of August @ 5pm. A Zoom link will be forwarded to you following confirmation of your attendance.
Additionally, as most Members will be aware, the introduction of restrictions back in March meant that the Club was unable to hold a Presentation Night and acknowledge the winners of season 2019/20 awards. Recipients are yet to be announced to Members, and the General Committee has made the decision to await the easing of restrictions before holding an appropriate event to do so. Therefore, we will not be publishing the Club Annual Report in conjunction with the AGM. Instead, the 2019/20 Financial Statement will be made available on the Club website in the days leading up to the AGM, with the final Annual Report (including award winners) released after an event acknowledging said winners.
Finally, any Member wishing to nominate for an official position on the Club Executive for the 2020/21 season, or indicate a representative proxy to vote on matters on their behalf, please see the appropriate documents attached.
If you have any questions regarding the above arrangements, or wish for further clarification, please feel free to contact me.
Stay safe and best wishes,
Canterbury Cricket Club Secretary
